Maqsood-ul-Hasan, the additional inspector general of police for South Punjab, presided over a high-level meeting on Friday at the RPO office in Multan to discuss the measures taken to preserve peace and order in the Katcha region and the upcoming approach to dealing with criminal elements.

The Additional IGP South was earlier cordially greeted to the RPO office by Capt (Retd) Sajjad Hasan Khan.

Circle officials, DPO Rahim Yar Khan Rizwan Umar Gondal, RPO Bahawalpur Rai Babar Saeed, and SHOs stationed in the Katcha area took part in the meeting.

The extra IG was informed by officials on the situation in Katcha, the state of crime generally, the local gangs and the current police operations against them, among other things.

On this occasion, the extra IGP South expressed his or her appreciation with the overall work of the police in the Katcha region.

He also gave instructions to use all possible means to deal harshly with anyone who violated social harmony in order to uphold the rule of law in the region.

He instructed authorities to share information in order to suppress criminal elements and speed up existing operations against the Katcha gangs. He also promised that all necessary resources would be made available to local police.

To guarantee the continuation of law and order, all impacted officials agreed to further strengthen mutual collaboration between the DG Khan region and Bahawalpur area police in the operation against the Katcha gangs.

They promised to ensure the security of people’s lives and property and to hold the Katcha thieves responsible.
