BAHAWALPUR (A News) : On Monday, a goods train carrying fertiliser derailed close to Kalanchwala in the Bahawalpur district, according to authorities.

There were no reported fatalities in the incident.

The train driver purposefully steered the train off the track when the brakes failed to stop it in a busy area. Six carriages derailed and rolled over.

From Punjab, the goods train was headed to Sindh. Other trains arriving from Karachi were diverted by the railway officials. The railway was cleared and the derailed carriages were removed using large gear.
