The National Assembly Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training resolved to call the vice chancellor of Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) for its 43rd meeting, which will be held on July 26, 2023, in order to express its displeasure about his absence.

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training resolved to call the vice chancellor of Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) for its 43rd meeting, which will be held on July 26, 2023, in order to express its displeasure about his absence from the meeting.

The choice was made at the Committee’s 42nd meeting, which was place yesterday at Islamabad’s Parliament House and presided over by MNA Makhdoom Syed Sami-ul-Hassan Gillani.

The IUB VC was expected to attend the meeting (in person) to inform the Committee on a topic on the agenda pertaining to the IUB’s business, however he did not.

In order to get a report on the current state of the IUB, the Committee has resolved to call District Police Officer (DPO) Bahawalpur on July 26, 2023.

The Standing Committee’s Inter-Departmental Committee (IDC) report on “The Protection of Family Life and Wedlock Bill. 2023” (moved by Ms. Javairia Zafar Aheer, MNA) was presented to the Committee. The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) informed the Committee that the IDC met as directed by the Standing Committee, but that the representatives from the Establishment, Finance, and Law & Justice Divisions, who were members of the IDC, demande
