Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), stated that Jamia Islamia is a globally recognized educational institution.
BAHAWALPUR: Jamia Islamia is an educational institution with international prestige, according to Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB). The University is the keeper of significant religious and intellectual history. He added during a news conference at the Abbasia Campus here Thursday that the University’s faculty, students, public society, and alumni are all working together to get out of the current challenging position.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amjad, Dean Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Dean Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Jawad Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shafiq ur Rahman, Dean Faculty of Islamic Learning, and Prof. Dr. Moazzam Jamil, Registrar were all present on this occasion.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was badly influenced by secondaries, which had propagated widely on social media. In this regard, Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the Higher Education Commission, the Higher Education Department South Punjab, the Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur, and other committees are investigating diligently, he said, adding that these committees would soon present their findings of the inquiry and the University would follow their recommendations. He stated that certain bad elements were attempting to undermine the University’s beneficial educational atmosphere, but that the majority of faculty and students were committed to teaching and research, and that the negative actions of a few persons will stop shortly.
According to the VC, the University is dedicated to a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and harassment.
Such situations have never occurred in the University’s history. All parents are asked to overcome their dread and perplexity as a result of recent events. The media is being asked to make recommendations to better the current situation and put a stop to this upsetting mood. The Higher Education Commission’s Special Committee on Harassment at the University is active, and the procedure of punishment and punishment is always in place, he said, adding that students may call and seek help from the Office of the Director of Student Affairs.
He stated that the annual admission campaign is now underway at the University, and that we must all work together to make this admission campaign a success. He stated that no one wants a lousy learning atmosphere at a university.
The VC compared our students to our children, adding that a committee will be created to communicate with parents and tell them about the University’s continuous teaching and research initiatives.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amjad, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, stated on this occasion that two women have been appointed to the Higher Education Department’s research committee. The VC promised that following the inquiry, anyone responsible would be severely punished, with no exceptions.
He stated that Islamia University Bahawalpur is an invaluable resource for all of us. Our children’s future depends on their survival and security, and we will all work together to defend this valuable treasure, he continued.
On this occasion, media representatives greeted the Vice Chancellor, noting that he was a Bahawalpur native who would strive for the University’s welfare and progress.
